High density, mixed-use neighborhoods that build community.
We design communities which enable people to live sustainably. For example, creating dense areas where people can live and work in walking or bike riding distance. Ways to have the energy and stimulation of density, while preserving the countryside.
We are not abandoning the car, but we are committed to creating places that are not so completely dependant upon it.
From the tiniest seed to the milkyway gallaxy, nature is formed by a system of geometries and growth principles. These principles are mathematically and geometrically quantifiable. When we take our needs and functional requirements - no matter how mundane - and wrap them in these geometries we achieve an architecture that works on all levels: Function, beauty, and structure.
DESIGN WITH NATURE
Mother Earth is our home. When the built environment we place upon the surface works with the site: Land forms, water flow, wind and sunlight, the earth becomes more beautiful and more habitable. That is the goal. Nature has forces we can work with and abide by.
To design with nature also means to be inspired by nature. Let the curve of the ocean or thrust of a cliff inspire the form. Architecture is an art form. Like sculpture, a building can be an elegant form upon the landscape, and at the same time it can be a machine. It can store and clean water, it can generate electricity, it can grow a garden on the roof while at the same time it houses you and protects you from the elements.
GREEN - BLUE
Green - Blue is the planet on which we live. Green is only half of the story. Water, our life sustenance is crucial to our survival. The term was coined by William McDonough. It covers all aspects of design for living on our planet.
Synergy is what happens when a person who can think great thoughts and imagine the possible, hires an Architect who can translate the Dream into form. It takes a team of caring people to make the world a wonderful place. When we co-create, who are we co-creating with?
